Mezi, a Sunnyvale, CA-based provider of an executive assistant solution, raised $2.8m in funding.
The round was led by Nexus Venture Partners. Investors and advisors also include Manish Chandra (Founder and CEO of Poshmark), Nickhil Jakatdar (Founder and CEO of Vuclip), Scott Bagby (Former President of Rdio and VP Skype), Chris Becherer (SVP Product of Rdio), Rajan Navani (VC & MD, Jetline Group Of Companies) and Rajesh Kamat (Group COO of CA Media Asia from The Chernin Group).
Led by Snehal Shinde, COO, and Swapnil Shinde, CEO, Mezi connects users in real-time with human experts to research, recommend and purchase everything they need. Through a messaging interface, Mezi takes care of arranging flights and hotel stays, buying items for work or personal use, or planning an evening out with friends.
Mezi is available free on iPhone via the App Store and Android via SMS. The solution runs on Smart Assist, a cloud-based technology platform using artificial intelligence and machine learning to streamline expert workflows and reduce response times. It learns customer preferences over time, enabling experts to tailor each of the three recommendations to the client’s unique needs.
