AppDynamics, a San Francisco, CA-based application intelligence company, secured $158m in growth financing.
The round was led by General Atlantic and Altimeter Capital, with participation from Adage Capital, Industry Ventures, Goldman Sachs, and Cross Creek Advisors as well as existing investors IVP, Greylock Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners. In conjunction with the investment, Robert Swan, an operating partner at General Atlantic and former CFO at eBay, Inc., will join AppDynamics’ board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product innovation, expand the offering, and fuel sales and marketing activities.
Led by David Wadhwani, president and CEO, AppDynamics provides enterprises with the next generation of software to monitor, manage, analyze, and optimize customer experiences and the most complex software environments behind them. It is used by iconic brands including Citrix, Concur, DIRECTV, eHarmony, Kraft, MTV Networks, NASDAQ, Nike, Pearson, Progressive Insurance, and Sephora.
