Transplant Biomedicals Raises €1.5M in Venture Capital Funding

Logo-TransparentccTransplant Biomedicals, a Barcelona, Spain-based medical device company, raised €1.5m in funding.

The round was co-led by Kereon Partners with participation from Caixa Capital Risc, and other investors.

The company will use the funds to continue to develop and commercialize its first product.

Founded in 2014 as a spinoff from IDIBAPS, Transplant Biomedicals has been developing a new organ transport device available for hospital use. The device uses technology leading to preservation of the organs during transport from the donor hospital to the transplant center. In addition, the product has the potential to use part of the marginal organs that are currently discarded and thus reduce the waiting lists.
The company is led by Ignasi Heras, CEO and confounder.
