San Francisco, CA-based software analytics company New Relic, Inc. (NYSE: NEWR) acquired Opsmatic, a San Francisco-based startup focused on live-state infrastructure monitoring for modern DevOps teams.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Founded in 2013 by Jim Stoneham, CEO, Opsmatic provides cloud-based software that gives real-time visibility into critical configuration changes that affect a company’s dynamic cloud infrastructure, and intelligently alert users so they can troubleshoot problems and reduce downtime.

In a post on the company’s site, Stoneham, now VP Product, New Relic, said: “We think this matchup is exciting because Opsmatic’s focus on real-time infrastructure insight is the perfect complement to New Relic’s Software Analytics Cloud“.
He also said thy are now starting a private, invitation-only beta program as the service evolves.

As said by Lew Cirne, CEO and founder, with this acquisition, New Relic gains technology that monitors configuration changes at the infrastructure level. “This is important, because we believe today’s successful software teams need real-time visibility into every component of their apps — from the infrastructure all the way up to the user experience,” he added.
