MyHealthTeams, a San Francisco, CA-based startup that creates social networks for chronic condition communities, raised just over $5m in Series B financing.
The round, which brought total capital raised to $10.14m, was led by a strategic investment from CVS Health and also included support from previous investors including Adams Street Partners, the Westly Group, HealthTechCapital and Sand Hill Angels.
The company intends to use the funds beyond its initial 13 social networks and reach a greater audience of people facing each of those conditions.
Co-founded by CEO Eric Peacock and Mary Ray, MyHealthTeams operates 13 social network social networks for chronic condition communities with over 300,000 members in 8 countries connecting with others who share their diagnoses, treatment paths, symptoms and more.
The company recently launched social networks in Diabetes and Parkinson’s disease, and plans to launch new networks for both the hemophilia and Alzheimer’s communities this year.
