CB Insights, a New York City-based developer of private company data and analysis platform, raised $10m in Series A funding.
Technology growth equity firm RSTP made the investment. In conjunction with the funding, RSTP co-founder and Managing Director, John DeLoche, will join CB Insights’ board.
The company, which had previously received a small grant from the National Science Foundation, will use the funds to grow its team and invest in its core data products, with an emphasis on predictive analytics and AI-driven tools, with the target of extending its lead in private company data and opening up new markets.
Led by co-founders Jonathan Sherry and Anand Sanwal, CEO, CB Insights provides a SaaS-based data, research, and predictive analytics platform on global private markets. It represents one of the most respected sources for major investors, corporations, banks, media, and B2B sales teams to find data and analytics on private companies, venture capital, M&A and emerging industries.
The company currently employs more than 60 people.
