Optomed Oy, an Oulu, Finland-based retinal company, received an investment from Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH (RBVC).
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth across the business and to advance product development.
Led by Seppo Kopsala, CEO, Optomed provides fundus screening and diagnostics products and solutions that can help eye care professionals in prevention of blindness. Its Smartscope® PRO is a modular hand-held retinal camera for screening and diagnosis of various eye diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and AMD.
The company’s products are being used by private clinics, public hospitals, non-government organizations and charities around the world, and are registered and marketed in all major markets: Europe, China, Russia, Japan, Korea, US, India and Brazil.
