Opanga Networks Closes Additional Funding Round

Opanga-logo Opanga Networks, a Seattle, WA-based provider of mobile network optimization solutions, closed an additional funding round.

The round, which brought total funding to close to $20m, was led by Jim Judson, the chairman of Opanga Networks. The company also added Cole Brodman, a former T-Mobile executive and mobile industry veteran, to its board of directors.

The new funding will allow Opanga to extend its new Network Coordinated Super Scheduler (NCSS) offering into new markets.

Led by Dave Gibbons, CEO, the company is a developer of mobile network optimization technology. Its latest product, NCSS, uses its core technology to manage encrypted mobile traffic and extend the long-term capital efficiency of radio access networks.
The NCSS software is deployed in the operator’s SGi-LAN data center using off the shelf policy based routers and standard servers.
