MyTutorWeb Raises £1M in Funding

mytutorwebMyTutorWeb, a London, UK-based online tutoring platform, raised £1m in funding.

Fifteen angel investors including Stephen Welton and Stephen Grabiner participated in the round.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the online technology, improve the students’ experience, as well as increase marketing and operating costs.

Founded in 2012 by Robert Grabiner and Bertie Hubbard, MyTutorWeb is an online marketplace that allows parents and students to connect with tutors, who provide one-to-one tuition through an online classroom.
The company’s tutors are current university students or recent graduates from top UK universities who have achieved excellent grades (A/A*s in their A-levels or equivalent) and are specialists in their subjects.
All tutors are personally interviewed before they join the website.
