Lakana Acquires Kixer

Lakana LLC, a St. Paul, MN-based enterprise-class technology company that provides solutions for media publishers, acquired Kixer, Inc., an advertising technology platform focused on optimizing and driving new mobile revenue streams for content publishers.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, Lakana will soon reach nearly 220 million unique users per month across 300 plus desktop and mobile sites.

Co-founded by Keith Bonnici, Omar Nicola and Jake Moilanen in 2014, Kixer allows mobile marketers to promote their products across a portfolio of over 400 premium web publications that in aggregate reach over 110 million unique visitors and generate 1.5 billion page views per month. The company’s native app recommendation units and marketplace are leveraged by over 80 app developers, including most of the top 50 grossing apps.
Backed by Lowercase Capital and TenOneTen Ventures as well as angel investors, Kixer is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, with a technology team based in Austin, TX.

Lakana, which is led by Phillip Hyun, president, delivers business-ready SaaS content management, engagement and monetization platforms which integrate with a comprehensive suite of products, partners and services for media publishers to operate businesses. It has additional offices and development centers in Los Angeles, Austin, Shanghai and Taipei.
