Hatch Baby, a Menlo Park, CA-based smart parenting tech company, raised $7M in Series A funding.
The round was led by True Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to continue building out its suite of wireless-enabled smart parenting devices.
Led by CEO and co-founder Ann Crady Weiss, Hatch Baby offers the the Smart Changing Pad, a redesign of the traditional diaper-changing pad that features embedded wireless scale and monitoring technology that tracks a baby’s growth. With a baby-friendly design, the pad allows parents to weigh their baby from home, and offers insights into their child’s health. It also tracks and automatically sends a baby’s development metrics and daily activities — including weight, feeding amount, and diaper changes — to a parent’s smartphone.
The Smart Changing Pad will be sold on HatchBaby.com for $299 ($199 with special limited time pre-order discount). The companion app, which can be used as a standalone baby-tracking app, will be available for free in the App store. A subsequent Android version will also be available.
