Canva Raises $15M in Series A Funding

canva-logoCanva, a Sidney, Australia-based design software startup, raised $15M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Felicis Ventures with participation from existing investors Blackbird Ventures and Matrix Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operation and continue to build the platform.

Led by Melanie Perkins, CEO, Canva provides a software platform that aims to facilitate graphic design via drag-and-drop design tools and a library of stock photographs, graphic elements and fonts. To date, over five million users have created over 35 million designs on the platform.
They recently released Canva for Work, a collaborative environment that allows teams to create on-brand marketing materials, presentations and social media graphics. which has been adopted by companies across the globe, including Yelp, Upworthy, and Lonely Planet, and is now free of charge for nonprofits.
