Bownty, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based deal aggregator, raised €3.4m in Series A funding.
Backers included HOWZAT Partners, SEED Capital, and business angels Pia Vemmelund, Managing Director at momondo and Chairman of Bownty. In conjunction with the funding, Sascha Hausmann from HOWZAT Partners, will become board member at Bownty.
The company intends to use the funds to pursue new opportunities for growing the business further.
Led by Steffen W. Frølund, founder and CEO, Bownty collects, sorts and distributes deals from more than 100 deal sites in approximately 1,200 cities in Europe.
In 2014, the company acquired its biggest competitor in Southern Europe, Yunait.
