S3 TV Technology Ltd., a business unit of S3 Group, is to be acquired by Accenture (NYSE: ACN).
The terms of the transaction, whose completion is still subject to customary closing conditions, were not disclosed.
Accenture will integrate S3 TV Technology’s StormTest® automated testing platform and video consulting capabilities with the software and solutions of Accenture Digital Video Services, which is part of Accenture’s Communications, Media and Technology group.
This portfolio will allows video service providers to create and evolve products that can access linear content through the broadband (IP) and broadcast networks and non-linear services such as catch-up TV and video on demand (VOD) through broadband networks. These services will be integrated with industrialized DevOps capabilities that foster a continuous delivery approach to product development and enable video businesses to launch, monitor, and iterate their products into the marketplace.
Founded in 1986 in Ireland, S3 Group operates multiple businesses in the TV Technology, Wireless, Communications Infrastructure, Healthcare and Semiconductor sectors. It is supported by ACT Venture Capital, Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI), and Enterprise Ireland.
