Backers included Omidyar Network, DCM Ventures and Owl Ventures and other 10 investors.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its its curriculum offerings, providing a digital alternative to traditional textbooks.
Founded in 2011 by Eric Westendorf, CEO, LearnZillion provides a free cloud-based curriculum solution to help teachers, schools, and districts improve instruction and respond to the specific needs of their students.
The site already offers Common Core-aligned math and English curriculum authored by educators currently teaching in classrooms across the U.S.
