GreenBone Raises €3m in Venture Capital Funding

greenboneGreenBone, a Faenza, Italy-based medical device startup, raised €3m in its first venture capital funding.

Backers included ZernikeMeta Ventures, via Ingenium Emilia-Romagna, Italian Angels for Growth (IAG), and other angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop its platform, conducting clinical studies on pateints with bone damages, and obtain the CE mark.

Founded in 2014 by CEO & COO Lorenzo Pradella, GreenBone develops a wood-derived bone implants technology to generate biomimetic – reabsorbable– load bearing implant suitable to address non-union fractures.
The idea was conceived and developed by a research group of ISTEC-CNR of Faenza comprised of Andrea Ruffini, Simone Sprio and Anna Tampieri.

The company is an Innovative Startup (according to the Italian law).
