Bindle Chat, a Woodside, CA-based group chat messaging startup, raised $2.5m in funding.
According to a regulatory filing with the S.E.C., 13 unnamed backers invested in the offering.
Led by Chris Toy, Bindle is a group messaging app designed to support large groups, for any purpose. It is used by families, friends, fantasy leagues, online gaming teams, fraternities and sororities, wedding or trip planning, religious congregations, and college lectures.
The format is similar to a chat room, with additional tools like GIF support, an image editor, image search and GIF search, private messages in-line, and link previews for YouTube videos and news articles.
The app is available for iPhone and Android.
