Zscaler, Inc., a San Jose, CA-based Internet security company, closed a $100m round of financing.
The round, which valued the company in excess of $1 billion, was led by TPG, with participation from existing investors EMC and Lightspeed Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Nehal Raj, Partner at TPG, will be appointed to Zscaler’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate investment in technology, grow the customer base and scale the business.
Led by Jay Chaudhry, CEO, Zscaler provides an Internet security platform built as a multi-tenant, distributed cloud service designed to scale and deliver real-time insights into security issues.
Thousands of enterprises and government organizations, including United Airlines, Humana, NBC and National Health Services of the UK, currently use Zscaler.
