WSO2 Closes $20M Funding Round

WSO2_logoWSO2, a Mountain View, CA-based open source cloud and middleware company, closed a $20m funding round.

The round was led by Pacific Controls, with participation from Toba Capital. With the investment, Dilip Rahulan, executive chairman of Pacific Controls, joined WSO2’s board as an observer.

The company intends to use the funds to advance the worldwide delivery of its middleware solutions and expand global operations; marketing, sales, and support teams; and channel programs.

Led by Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana, founder, CEO and chief architect, WSO2 provides an open source middleware platform for building, integrating, managing, securing and analyzing companies’ APIs, applications, and Web services—on-premises, in the cloud, on mobile and IoT devices.
It is used by enterprise customers worldwide in health, financial, retail, logistics, manufacturing, travel, technology, telecom sectors.
