Mode Raises $7.5m in Series A Funding

modeMode, a San Francisco, CA-based a provider of a collaborative, SQL-based platform designed to help data analysts and data scientists analyze, visualize, and share data, raised $7.5m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Foundation Capital with participation from existing investors Goldcrest Capital and Arnold Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Steve Vassallo is joining Mode’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to add features to its platform and expand operations.

Led by Derek Steer, CEO, Mode provides a cloud service that allows analysts to query and run reports on data. The company has just released database connectors for Windows machines, new support for Presto and Snowflake, and HIPAA compliance. In the coming weeks, they will be adding features for analysts to tell data stories that require multiple charts and multiple queries.
