GrabTaxi, a Singapore-based mobile taxi service operating in Southeast Asia, raised $350m in funding.
The round brought total funding to over $700m.
Backers included Coatue, China Investment Corporation (CIC), China’s sovereign wealth fund, among others.
Launched in 2012 and led by Anthony Tan, GrabTaxi is an automated location based smartphone booking and dispatch platform for the taxi industry in South East Asia being present into 23 cities across 6 countries – Malaysia, Singapore, The Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia.
