Eco Baltia JSC Receives €10M Minority Equity Investment

Eco Baltia JSC, a Riga, Latvia-based provider of waste treatment in Latvia and the Baltic states, received a €10m minority investment.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) made the investment.

The company intends to use the funds to finance the construction of a mechanical biological treatment plant for household waste.

Set up in 2002 and led by Māris Simanovičs, Chairman of the Board, Eco Baltia is the largest waste management operator in the Baltic region. It is advancing the first of its kind plant in the region focusing on extraction of recyclable materials from household waste.
The company has over 450 employees.
