Udemy Hires Key Executives

Udemy_logoUdemy, a San Francisco-based marketplace for online education, hired two key executives to strengthen and grow its product and content teams.

Robert Wong will serve as VP of Product while Grégory Boutté will join as VP of Content.
Wong held leadership roles at Hulu, where he developed, led, and scaled the product and design teams, and Microsoft, where he served as the Group Manager of Corporate Strategy to bring the business into new strategic markets. Prior to joining Udemy, Wong served as EVP of Product at Sidecar. As VP of Product at Udemy, Wong will be responsible for driving the design and product management teams.
As VP of Content, Boutté will lead global operations for the supply side of Udemy’s marketplace and manage its content library. Boutté has over 15 years of experience working at companies with marketplace business models, including eBay and Sidecar.

Udemy, which recently raised $65m in Series D funding, has grown to serve more than 7 million students with more than 30,000 courses taught by 16,000 instructors.

Led by CEO Dennis Yang, Udemy now serves students in more than 190 countries, through 2,000 new courses created each month by more than 16,000 instructors. In addition, the company serves corporate customers, including Oracle, Lyft, and Pepsi, through its Udemy For Business platform, to develop, manage, and grow their teams with the skills necessary for today’s workplace.
