thethings.iO Closes €250k Seed Funding

thethingsthethings.iO, a Barcelona, Spain-based Internet of Things startup, closed a €250k first funding round.

Investors included 101 startups, Toubkal Partners, Taurus Fund, Wayra and other business angels of ESADE BAN.

The company intends to use the funds to increase business development, marketing and communications efforts to start their growth and expansion at a global scale as well as to further the technical development of their platform.

Co-founded by Marc Pous (CEO), Jose Manuel Pérez (CTO), Marti Zamora (Data Scientist), Alfredo Sanz and Mischa Dohler (advisor), thethings.iO allows businesses to connect their devices (wearables, homes and several industries) to the Internet so they can interact with other “connected things”. The company’s platform gives access to visualization and data analysis such as remote management of devices and interoperability between them.
The platform, which has more than 2,500 registered users and thousands of connected devices, is utilized by companies such as Telefónica, Econais, and Sigfox.
It is accelerated by Wayra Barcelona, Telefónica Open Future’s startup accelerator.
