PockitShip, a Herndon, VA-based on-demand pickup and delivery service targeting the heavy goods shipping market, received funding from the CIT GAP Funds.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to enhance its mobile app and marketing initiatives.
Led by Steve Senkus, a logistics veteran, and Garrett O’Shea, an 18 year marketing veteran, PockitShip operates a web-enabled marketplace for customers looking for an across-town or across-country on-demand shipping service of furniture, appliances, fitness equipment and other heavy consumer goods.
The company leveragas a network of more than 4000 delivery drivers throughout the U.S.
