GoodWorld, Inc., a Washington DC-based financial tech startup, secured $1.65m in seed funding.
The round was led by Nyca Partners, with participation from Camp One Ventures, Fenway Summer Ventures and others.
The company will use the additional funding to fuel growth in the second half of 2015 and plans to make its #donate technology available to a market of over 1.5 million 501(c)(3) organizations in the U.S. alone.
Led by Dale Nirvani Pfeifer, Charles McGuire Wien and John Gossart, GoodWorld allows social media users to instantly donate to partner non-profits by using a hashtag. Donors can give to any partnered charities by typing “#donate” in the comment block of a charity’s Facebook page or by tweeting “#donate” at a charity.
