Whittl, a Chicago, IL-based online appointment booking platform., raised $3.3m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Origin Ventures and KGC Capital with participation from OCA Ventures, Amicus Capital, Drummond Road Capital and GrubHub co-founder Mike Evans.
The company intends to use the funds to focus on city expansion, product development and team growth.
Led by Mike Zivin, Whittl is a destination to find schedule and pay for local services. Consumers can book personal care services – from haircuts and manicures to massages and eye examinations – with local businesses. They can search by location, appointment time and customer ratings, and pay online.
Whittl also allow local service businesses to attract new customers, efficiently serve existing customers and upsell services. User data shows that customers who book through its app return to businesses more frequently, tip better and have near-zero rates of last-minute cancelations and no-shows.
