Roomi, a NYC-based free mobile app for roommate and housing search, raised $2m in seed funding.
The round was led by DCM Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to ramp up with new features, expand to Android and hire new people.
Led by Ajay Yadav, founder and CEO, Roomi also announced the official launch out of beta of its mobile app marketplace that utilizes an extensive social graph, allowing users to create a profile and search for potential roommates and rooms. Every listing and user is vetted and verified before going live for security. a built-in chat allows users to connect safely and encourages open communication for successful roommate relationships like shared values, common interests and compatible lifestyles.
