HealthifyMe Raises Pre-Series A Funding

healthifymeCaeruz Ventures Pvt Ltd, a Bengaluru, India and Singapore-based provider of a health and fitness app called HealthifyMe, raised a pre-Series A funding round of undisclosed amount.

Backers included handset maker Micromax, Gopal Srinivasan, Bala Parthasarathy, Sashi Reddi, Amit Gupta, Pallav Nadhani, Roopa Nath, among others.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to advance the app, to launch it into additional countries beyond India and hire more than 1,000 nutritionists and fitness trainers.

Founded in 2012 by Tushar Vasisht, CEO, HealthifyMe is a calorie tracker, which allows users to track their food, exercise and weight via their smartphone or computer while continuously analyzing data and provide insights that ensure that users stay within their calorie/nutrition budgets.
The company had previously raised $250k in angel funding in 2012.
