FACEIT, a London, UK-based gaming platform, secured $2 million in funding.
The round was led by United Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to double its team of 30 by the end of the year to support its user base and introduce new games to the platform.
Founded in 2012 by Niccolo Maisto, Alessandro Avallone and Michele Attisani, FACEIT operates a competitive gaming platform which offers eSport players the opportunity to participate in structured competitions such as online tournaments as well as daily, weekly and monthly leagues. Gamers get access to a player-centric interface, automatic results verification with no need to report results. Once gamers win a competition they are awarded “FACEIT” points that can be collected and redeemed in the FACEIT store.
In addition to regular gaming sessions, the company’s media division produces eSports events on Twitch.tv.
The platform has more than 1.5m users and over 5 million gaming sessions every month.
