Classy Raises $18M in Funding

classy-logo-blue-steel_copyClassy, a San Diego, CA-based fundraising platform for nonprofits and social enterprises to mobilize and empower communities, raised $18M in funding.

The round was led by Mithril Capital Management with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Bullpen Capital, Venture51, Galileo Partners and Rethink Impact. $2M of the $18M round has been reserved for certain strategic investors.

The company intends to use the funds to allow the company to expand its product and bring its platform to more organizations around the world.

Led by newly named CEO Scot Chisholm and CTO Michael Young, Classy provides social impact organizations with a cloud-based fundraising platform. Since 2011, it has allowed more than 1,500 social enterprises including Oxfam, The World Food Program and National Geographic to raise hundreds of millions of dollars. The company also hosts the Classy Awards to recognize the greatest champions of social progress.
Classy employs a staff of more than 80 people.
