IndieBio Increases Funding Available; Launches Second Call

indieBioLogoIndieBio, a San Francisco, CA-based seed stage biotech accelerator, is increasing the funding available.

Each of the companies (30 per year) that participate in its accelerator batches will now receive $250k in funding. The additional funding comes from a fund created specifically for IndieBio, (called IndieBio I) in San Francisco and includes capital from multiple LPs.

Led by Ryan Bethencourt, program director, IndieBio SF is accepting applications for its second batch which begins on September 15th.

Founded in 2014 by Arvind Gupta and funded by accelerator VC SOSventures, IndieBio trains scientists to become entrepreneurs through seed funding and one-on-one product, community and business mentorship within the company’s downtown San Francisco lab.
Each batch lasts a total of 130 days given the greater development times for biology-based companies.
