Boost Academy Closes $600K in Seed Financing

Boost_Academy_logoBoost Academy, Inc., a San Diego, CA-based developer of an interactive math tutoring platform for the iPad, closed a $600k seed round of financing.

Backers included a group of investors led by Tom Ladt, who will join Boost Academy’s Board of Directors.

The company plans to use the funds to conduct an expanded product launch of its platform in advance of the 2015 fall semester for middle and high school students, increase product development, amplify sales and marketing activities and improvement of the consumer experience.

Led by Craig K. Collins, Boost Academy President & CEO, and Josh Roach, Chief Technology Officer, Boost Academy offers students one-on-one math tutoring over the iPad. The company’s platform provides an interactive learning environment for students who can connect with their own subject-certified, personal tutor. Once the student and tutor each log into the app, they speak to each other in real time and work through problems together.
