WaterSmart Software Raises $7M in Series B Funding

WSS_MobileWaterSmart Software, a San Francisco, CA-based customer engagement platform for water utilities, closed a $7M Series B funding round.

The round was led by a large family offices with participation from existing investors The Westly Group, Apsara Capital, Physic Ventures, and Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ). In conjunction with the funding, Hal Harvey of Energy Innovation will join WaterSmart’s Board of Directors which already includes Steve Westly (Westly Group), Will Rosenzweig (Physic Ventures), Steve Bennet (Sand Hill Angels), Robin Gilthorpe and Peter Yolles (WaterSmart Founder).

The company intends to use the capital to continue to scale the business by expanding sales and investing in additional platform capabilities.

Led by Robin Gilthorpe, CEO, WaterSmart uses analytics and behavioral science techniques to increase customer engagement and drive household actions that save water, energy and money. The cloud-based platform includes tools that allow utility managers to segment customer water consumption data, generate targeted communications, and identify operational efficiencies.
