VendOp, a San Francisco, Calif.-based platform for professionals to share ratings and reviews of business and industrial vendors, secured $1.1m in seed funding.
Backers included Dr. Martin Lautman and Dr. Leonard Lodish and other undisclosed investors.
The company intends to use the funds for growth and deepen leadership position.
Led by Andrew Kohm, CEO, VendOp allows professionals to get first-hand insights on all types of vendors injection molding, component suppliers, 3D printers, precision vises and also share their experiences and opinions with other professionals in the community. It supports 26 core vendor categories, which includes consulting services, manufacturing, component supply, financial services, and sterilization, among others.
The platform currently collects more than 30,000 vendor reviews from current or recent customers who have relevant experience with nearly 4,000 companies in total.
