Plae Raises $7M in Series A Funding

plaePlae, a San Francisco, California-based lifestyle brand for children, raised $7m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Partech Ventures with participation from Floodgate, Western Technology Investment, Finn Capital, Cherubic Ventures, Bruce Katz, Yasunobu Kyogoku, Fabrice Grinda, Jose Marin and others.

The company, which has raised a total of $10.8m to date, intends to use the funds to expand its global operations and invest in new product categories and cross-channel technologies.

Founded in 2012 by Ryan Ringholz and also led by Jonathan Spier, Plae offers shoes (for kids aged 3-8) that combine eco-friendly materials with biometric science (usually reserved for elite athletes).
