Studypool Raises $1.2M in Seed Funding

studypoolStudypool, a Mountain View, CA-based marketplace for students to get efficient academic help, raised $1.2m in seed funding.

The round was led by Lerer Hippeau Ventures with participation from 500 Startups, Fabrice Grinda’s FJ Labs, Great Oaks Venture Capital and other Silicon Valley-based angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand adoption and develop the platform.

Led by Richard Werbe and Jimmy Zhong, Studypool is an online marketplace that connects students with questions with tutors who can answer them on a per question basis. Top subjects on the platform are: Business & Finance, Programming, Writing and Mathematics.

The 500 Startups company (batch 11) is currently hiring developers and designers.
