Looker Closes $30M Series B Financing

LookerLogoLooker, a Santa Cruz, CA-based provider of a SaaS business intelligence (BI) platform, raised $30m in Series B financing.

The round was led by Meritech Capital Partners, with participation from Sapphire Ventures (formerly SAP Ventures), and existing investors Redpoint Ventures, First Round Capital and PivotNorth. In conjunction with the funding, Rob Ward, managing director at Meritech Capital Partners, will be joining Looker’s board.

Led by Frank Bien, CEO, Looker is a Web-based business intelligence platform that connects people and data in context. Through a data description language called LookML, analysts can create and curate custom data experiences, this allowing any employee to explore and utilize the data that’s most relevant to them.
Looker integrates with Amazon Redshift, Teradata Aster, HP Vertica, Greenplum, Impala, Bigquery and Spark, among others.
Customers include Yahoo!, Warby Parker, Asana, Instacart, Docker, Venmo, Upworthy, Gilt, etc.

The company also has offices in San Francisco, New York and London.
