Even Financial, a New York City-based lending platform, secured $2.8m in seed funding.
The round was led by Canaan Partners with participation from Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, Conversion Capital, Social Leverage, 555 Capital, Jon Kelfer of Orchard Platform, and other angel investors. In conjunction with the funding, Brendan Dickinson, principal at Canaan Partners, will be joining the Board.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to build its platform.
Led by Ian Rosen, CEO and co-founder, Phill Rosen, CTO, and Jarid Maged, CPO, Even Financial provides a Supply Side Platform (SSP) for peer-to-peer (P2P) lending marketplaces to effectively identify and match suitable borrowers with the right lending platform.
The platform works by evaluating borrowers on criteria such as credit and platform fit. Borrower leads are sourced, verified, and enhanced with data to create a defined profile that allows lenders to match with borrowers that will be the best fit for their individual platform, reducing their costs.
