X.ai, a New York-based virtual personal assistant for scheduling meetings, raised approximately $9.13m in funding.
The round was led by FirstMark Capital with participation from IA Ventures, Softbank Capital and Pritzker Group Venture Capital.
The company will use the funds to expand data and science efforts and continue to grow. It is currently hiring.
Co-founded in 2014 by CEO Dennis R. Mortensen, COO Alex Poon, CTO Matt Casey, and Chief Data Scientist, x.ai builds and maintains an artificial intelligence powered personal assistant that schedules meetings for business customers.
Previous investors included Softbank Capital, IA Ventures and Lerer Ventures, which backed the company in its seed funding in May 2014 (read here).
