Verne Global, a London, UK-based developer of energy efficient data centers, secured US$98m of equity funding.
The round was led by Stefnir, an Icelandic asset management and private equity firm, with participation from existing investors the Wellcome Trust, Novator Partners and General Catalyst.
The company intends to use the funds to further expand its wholesale and colocation service offerings, as well as to design and develop resiliency data center space.
Led by Jeff Monroe, CEO, Verne Global is a developer of energy efficient data center campuses located in Keflavik, Iceland. Launched in 2012, the company currently serves BMW, RMS, CCP Games, Datapipe, COLT, RVX Studios and others.
