Treasure Data, a Mountain View, CA-based provider of cloud services for massive data processing, raised $15m in Series B financing.
The round was led by Scale Venture Partners, with participation from all current board members or their respective funds, including Tim Guleri, Bill Tai and Morio Kurosaki, and AME Cloud Ventures, a venture fund led by Yahoo! founder Jerry Yang. In conjunction with the funding, Andy Vitus, Partner with Scale Venture Partners, will join Treasure Data’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its services and operations.
Led by Hiro Yoshikawa, founder and CEO, Treasure Data provides customers with a cloud service to analyze high-volume, high-velocity, semi-structured data generated by mobile applications, Internet of Things (IoT)/connected devices, large websites, cloud applications and other big data sources without investments in time, specialized skills or new infrastructure. Customers currently send approximately 400,000 data records per second to the service, and one Treasure Data customer uploads approximately 12 billion data records per day.
Corporate customers include Equifax, Pebble, GREE, Wish.com and MobFox.
