Plum Print Secures $1M in Seed Funding

plumprintPlum Print, an Asheville, North Carolina-based company that turns children’s artwork into books and digital archives, secured $1m in seed funding.

Brooklyn Bridge Ventures led the round with participation from a number of angel investors from the Asheville, N.C..

The company intends to use the funds to continue to grow its business and expand into new products.

Founded in 2012 by and Carolyn Lanzetta and Meg Ragland, Plum Print sends a prepaid shipping kit to customers. Parents then drop the artwork into the box and Plum Print takes care of the rest by scanning and/or photographing all types of artwork, editing each image and creating custom layouts for each coffee-table book. Parents approve the proof and the book is shipped to the family (with the original artwork if so desired).
The company will soon be adding online galleries and expanding product offerings to include note cards, canvases, calendars and other products and keepsake merchandise.
