PlaySpace Secures Second Funding

PlaySpace, a Palma de Mallorca, Spain-based social and casual games developer, secured a second round of funding, taking its total investment to date to $3m.

It had raised $1.9m in 2012 (read here).

Funding came from existing investor Faraday Venture Partners alongside new strategic investor The José Manuel Entrecanales Foundation. They joined Mola.com, PeopleFund, Faraday and the management team.

The company intends to use the funds to consolidate its position within the Spanish mobile games market, expand within key markets including the U.S. and Latin America region, and develop new games.

Founded by Enrique Dubois and Alfonso Villar in 2011 and incubated and accelerated through Mola.com, PlaySpace has over 25 employees and more than 10 million registered users in several countries. Over one million international active monthly users are divided over their 9 multi-platform games (Domino, Chinchon Luno, Restaurant Slots, Call Bingo, Buraco, etc.) on Facebook, web, iOS, Android and Amazon.
