GenePOC Receives Equity Investment

genepocGenePOC, a Québec City, Canada-based developer of a molecular diagnostics platform, received an investment of undisclosed amount.

The round was led by Debiopharm Diagnostics (and will become the largest shareholder in the company) with participation from Emerillon Capital.

The company will leverage the funds to try to be on the market in 2016.

Founded by Prof. Michel G. Bergeron, Director and Founder of the Infectious Disease Research Center at Université Laval, and led by Patrice Allibert, CEO, GenePOC develops has developed an integrated portable instrument for the prevention and early detection of infectious diseases based on a centripetal technology platform which can be operated at bedside, in the emergency room, in physician offices, in pharmacies, or in dispensaries in the developing world.
