Qualtré Raises $9M in Funding

Qualtre-logoQualtré, Inc., a Marlborough, Mass.-based developer of Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) silicon MEMS inertial sensors, raised $9m in funding.

Backers included two strategic partners, including Alps Electric (Tokyo: 6770), along with current investors, Matrix Partners and Pilot House Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand sales and marketing, scale operations, and extend product development.

Led by Edgar Masri, President and CEO, Qualtré is a global manufacturer of electronic components for mobile devices, home electronics, vehicles and industrial equipment. Its proprietary Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) MEMS sensor designs and its HARPSS™ process technology were instrumental in the development of 3-axis and 1-axis BAW MEMS gyros, which are being supplied to customers for consumer, industrial and automotive applications.
