Microsoft (MSFT) acquired Acompli, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of mobile email apps for iOS and Android.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
As part of it, Acompli’s team and products will become part of Microsoft to expedite the work to deliver Office to mobile devices.
Led by Javier Soltero, Cofounder & CEO, and JJ Zhuang, Cofounder & CTO, Acompli is an email app that allows users to attach files, swipe to delete or defer emails, and schedule meetings with a fully integrated calendar. It is available on iOS and Android, and works for Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, Outlook, MSN, Live, Exchange, Office 365 and Google for Work.
