Happn Raises $8M in Funding

happnHappn, a Paris, France-based provider of a hyperlocal data app, raised $8m in funding.

Backers included Alven Capital and DN Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to expand internationally.

Led by Didier Rappaport, Founder and CEO, Happn provides a hyperlocalized dating app working on proximity to enable users to view the profiles of other members who have been within 250 meters in real-time. Users can then signal their interest using hearts – or “charms” and begin conversations if the interest is mutual.
It is currently available in France, the UK, Germany, Spain, the US and Australia and counts one million users in total including over 100,000 users in London alone.
