Freight Farms Raises $3.7M in Funding

freightfarmsFreight Farms, a Boston, MA-based provider of self-contained, Web-connected hydroponic farms to growers of leafy greens, raised $3.7m in funding.

Spark Capital made the investment.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the research and development of more products that empower and expand its farmer network.

Led by Brad McNamara, CEO, and Jon Friedman, President and COO, Freight Farms aims to bring stability and sustainability to the food supply chain by providing complete farm-to-table systems that bring fresh, local produce to businesses, organizations and individuals all across the globe. Its high-volume crop production units made from upcycled shipping containers allow users to manage their harvest cycle through real time digital monitoring and harvest support services.
