DoveConviene, a Cagliari, Italy-based provider of an online and mobile shopping promotion platform, raised €5.2m in Series B funding.
Backers included 360 Capital Partners and Merifin Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Alessandro Damiano, Principia SGR, and Cesare Maifredi, General Partner of 360 Capital Partners, joined DoveConviene’s board.
The company, which has now raised more that $10m in total, intends to use the funds to grow in Italy, hire in tech, marketing and sales people (reaching 200 employees in a four year period) as well as to expand abroad in Spain, Mexico, Brazil and USA.
Co-founded by Alessandro Palmieri and Stefano Portu, Doveconviene operates a geo-localized platform that sends catalogs and leaflets from major retailers and brands across several categories (food, electronics, furniture, DIY, travel, clothing, just to name a few of them ) via email or via mobile to users who are near the stores.
The platform, used by 7m users (5m in Italy and 2 abroad) is accessible via the website and a via a mobile app for iOS, WindowsPhone, Windows8, Android, Amazon and BlackBerry.
The company, which also has offices in Milan and Bologna, had raised €3.5m in 2013 (read here)
